Overview:
Villarreal’s 1-0 defeat against PAOK in midweek ended their 10 games unbeaten run. Despite that setback, Villarreal are doing well in the League this season, especially at home, winning all four League games at the El Madrigal and scoring nine goals in the process and conceding no goals!
Athletic Bilbao on the other have been poor on the road winning just once in their four away games, drawing once and losing the other two.
Recent head to head at the El Madrigal have been totally one sided. Athletic Bilbao have not taken any points away from the El Madrigal in their last five visits.
With Villarreal being such a strong side at home, It would be difficult for Athletic Bilbao to take anything away from the Yellow Submarine. Villarreal have yet to concede at home this season in the League and Bilbao will probably have to rely on Fernando Llorente to score from set plays.
With Rossi and Nilmar expected to start once again up front, both this duo will cause problems for Bilbao as the combination between the both of them have been deadly. Rossi is their leading goal scorer with six goals in nine games while Nilmar has five goals and three assist in nine games.
Fernando Llorente is the danger man for Bilbao as he has been getting them crucial goals. Should Villarreal kept him quiet, Villarreal are odds on to win the game yet again.
With the handicap at -0.5, the home side would definitely be favourites as a single goal win is all they need to clear the handicap. This is not easy as it seems as Bilbao are no pushovers BUT given their home record this season I fancy my chances with the home side.
