Overview:
Short and simple as I have some meeting to attend to tomorrow.
This could well be the game that shapes up the EPL this season. A win for United surely win them the league while a win for Chelsea is good enough to edge Chelsea ahead of United due to goal difference.
With United losing the title to Chelsea last season because of this game, United should have learn their mistakes. The best form of defense is to attack and not sit back and defend. In their meeting last month, United dominated both games against Chelsea, home and away in the Champions League. Carlo Ancelotti knows that he has to come up with a different game plan if he wants to grab all three points here today - but the question is CAN he do so?
My answer to that is NO simply because
1) they lack firepower in midfield. Frank Lampard might be one of the best midfielders in England and also Europe for the last decade but Lampard is already 33 this year. He no longer has legs to run up and down the pitch as effective as before.
2) Apart from Lampard, Chelsea's other midfielders are all defensive minded players - Essien , Mikel and Ramires.
3) Despite Giggs being 37, he ran the show against Chelsea last month. I cant believe it but he did it and if we look at the energy level of United's Midfield in midweek against Schalke, you might be a little worried if you are a Chelsea fan. Anderson & Valencia in particular were absolutely brilliant.
4) Wayne Rooney and Hernandez are starting to click and Chelsea just cant keep them at bay - especially when Rooney drops deep
