Overview:
Manchester United are on a brink of yet another Premier League title. A point is only all they need and with both their remaining games coming against Blackburn and Blackpool, we are almost certain to see United lifting the trophy this season, in fact maybe at the end of today’s game.

Blackburn on the other hand have probably just done enough to stay on top, however another draw in their remaining two matches almost assures them top flight football next season.

With Patrice Evra doubtful, Ferguson might not want to take risk against him as young Fabio has done well in recent weeks playing in left or right back. John O’Shea who limped off against Chelsea might also miss the game today. Apart from both of them, Owen Hargreaves is the only other United player out injured.

As for Blackburn, Diouf is ineligible to play this game while Grella, Nelsen and Rochina are all out injured. David Dunn, Michel Salgado and Phil Jones have all recovered from their respective injuries and should feature in this game.

In their last 10 meetings at Ewood Park, United have not lost in any of them, in fact winning eight of them. Therefore it will really be an uphill task for Blackburn to win here today, keeping in mind United are in good form.

The major problem for Blackburn has been scoring. Goals have been difficult to come by for them and they have only managed to score 16 goals since the start of the year, the fewest in the League.

Verdict:
Even with Sir Alex Ferguson expecting to rest several players, surely United have too much for Blackburn. We’ve seen it two weeks ago when their reserved step up and hammered Schalke 4-1. Having said that, I am expecting Sir Alex Ferguson to set out a strong side today and claim all three points here at Ewood Park and rest his players against Blackpool. We’ve seen this before in previous seasons!

The only tactic Sir Alex Ferguson can set out is an attacking one. United rarely sets out a defensive minded approach in such games. They only put five in midfield when they play in Europe as well as against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. Therefore, Blackburn will have to withstand constant and heavy attack from United.

With United so good down the flanks and the partnership of Hernandez and Rooney maturing at the right time, it is difficult to for Blackburn to concentrate on one. Should they play narrow down the park, the likes of Valencia and Nani would most probably have an enjoyable night. Should they play the full length of the pitch, the likes of Rooney and Anderson or Giggs would have space to roam around in midfield. So its really difficult for Blackburn and that’s the reason why im going to back United for all three points.
