Barcelona was simply too good for Getafe last time out. First half goals for Messi and Villa left Barcelona on pole position despite playing a man short for the final 20 minutes of the game. Even with a man short, Barcelona had better ball possession and more shots on target than Getafe.

With Pique suspended, Guardiola has major issues at the back as his only fit and recognize central defender is Puyol. Guardiola might be forced to play Eric Abidal or Busquets alongside Puyol. However the last few times Eric Abidal played in central defense, Barcelona and France suffered from it.

With the possibility of Busquets playing in central defense, Guardiola might be force to play Mascherano in his midfield alongside Xavi and Iniesta. It will take some time before Mascherano to fit in the team as

Villarreal’s attacking quartet of Rossi and Nilmar up front supported by Santi Cazorla and Borja Valero have been impressive. Not only have Cazarlo and Valero provided the supply for the forwards, both this wingers have scored five goals in total this season in the league.

Head to Head:
Barcelona do hold a better head to head record against the Yellow Submarine in their last 10 league outings. Barcelona have won five out of their last 10, drawing twice and losing on three occasion. Villarreal last win at the Nou Camp came back in March 2008, where the visitors won the game 2-1.

Verdict:
Lionel Messi and David Villa are starting to click now and both this duo will be unstoppable when they hit full throttle. Messi has improved tremendously on his goal scorer capability over the past two seasons while David Villa has always been a poacher.

On the other hand, Nilmar and Rossi are both in good goal scoring form and seem to have a talismanic understanding on each other. Rossi have already scored seven goals in ten games while Nilmar has six goals to his name in ten games. With Puyol as Barcelona’s only recognize central defense, I believe both duo have what it takes to get something out of the game for Villarreal. Busquet is not strong and physical while Eric Abidal has always cause trouble when he starts in a central defense.

With the handicap placed at -1.75 and possibly going up to -2 for Barcelona, Barcelona needs to win the game by 3 full goals before we get even money back. Looking at the visitors form, I have to say it would be difficult game for Barcelona.

Yes there is no doubt that Barcelona hammered Sevilla 5-0 at home a fortnight ago but Villarreal are a better side than Sevilla. Barcelona might win this game but I cant see them winning this game by a 3 goal margin.
