This game carries great importance to both sides, albeit for very different reasons. Getafe is battling for the rights to play in the Europa League, while Gijon is just battling to avoid relegation. Typically in late season encounters with both sides desperately seeking points a wide open affair is not very common. Clearly Getafe has the firepower to score goals, especially at home, but Gijon is not going to engage Getafe in a shootout today.
