Default Atletico Madrid Vs Barcelona - Preview and Prediction

Atletico Madrid Vs Barcelona - Preview and Prediction,
Match Analysis:
Atletico Madrid were disappointing in midweek in Europe as they lost to Greek side Aris 1-0. They created nothing signification and showed signs of the “OLD” Atletico Madrid – sloppy on the road. However, Sanchez Florez should not be too worried about that odd display as Atletico have been performing above expectation since the start of the season.

With Sergio Aguero doubtful, Sanchez Flores will have plenty to worry about as Aguero is his key player that links up midfield and attack. His runs have often caused defenders trouble. In addition, the great understanding of Aguero and Forlan have created and scored the majority of the goals for Madrid. Therefore Sanchez Flores will definitely play Aguero should he pass his fitness test.

Having won their first two rounds of games, this game against Barcelona could well be Sanchez Flores toughest test this season. Should Sanchez Flores side get a result here today, Atletico Madrid could well be one of the title challengers if not top 4.

Barcelona were stunned last week and are eager to bounce back following last weekend’s defeat to newly promoted Hercules at home. Summer signing Mascherano and Villa are still getting used to life at Camp Nou as both super stars have yet to settle down.

With Villa formerly playing with Valencia in Spain, it wont be long before he gets into the rhythm and start scoring. However, with Gurdiola playing with this 4-3-3 formation, Villa seems to play better in the middle but he is not the kind of player that can hold the ball up. Guardiola started with Villa on the left against Hercules but was largely disappointing.

On the other hand, Mascherano who formerly played with Liverpool might take a longer time to settle in Spain, especially with both Liverpool and Barcelona playing totally different brand of football.

With Seydou Keita or Busquest expected to play the holding role allowing more space for Xavi and Iniesta to move around in midfield, this is rather a weak link in this Barcelona line-up. Yes Busquest has improve tremendously over the past two seasons but he is not the kind of player would like to rely on big games marking key players as he is often outplayed.(Remember what Wesley Sneijder did to him?)

Head to head:
In this encounter last season, Atletico Madrid walked away with all three points, after winning Barcelona 2-1 at the Vincete Calderon. However on the reverse fixture, Barcelona went on to hammer Madrid 5-2.

To surprise you all, Atletico Madrid do have a good head to head record against Barcelona. In the past 10 league, Atletico Madrid have won five, drawn one and lost four. Atletico Madrid have won Barcelona at Vincete Calderon for the past three season. Therefore omens don’t seem to favour the away side?

Verdict:
Atletico Madrid are a very strong side at home. It wont be easy for Barcelona to travel to Madrid and get all three points. With Barcelona still finding their rhythm, the home side should be able to take full advantage and grab something out of this game

Should Aguero pass the fitness test and start up front alongside Forlan up front, I fancy my chances on an away win. However Aguero not start, Madrid might find it a little harder to break the solid defense of Barcelona.
With the handicap currently placed a +0.75 for Atletico Madrid, i have to say, its hard to reject this good offer. With having the risk of Barcelona winning by the odd goal, I reckon the +1 handicap would be a safer option.

SHADY RECOMMENDATIONS:
Atletico Madrid +1 @* 1.80 with Bet365
Both Teams to score @ 1.50 with Bet365
Diego Forlan to score @ 2.37 with Bet365
